Abstract

Background: Oncology has been plagued by tumour heterogeneity, complex biology, and heterogeneity of response to therapy. Novel pharmacological therapies and radiological technology are revolutionizing cancer diagnosis and treatment practice and offering solutions to the problems. Novel pharmacological therapies like targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals now characterize oncology. At the same time, novel radiological technologies like imaging-based biomarkers, precision radiotherapy, and radiomics enhance diagnostic accuracy and enable personalized therapies.
Objective: The review attempts to chart the intersection of new pharmacological therapies and new radiological technologies in oncology and their ability to enhance diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes through personalized medicine.
Methods: We reviewed extensively recent literature, clinical trials, and technological innovations in the intersection of pharmacology and radiology in oncology. The text is on radiotheranostic, immuno-radiotherapy, and precision imaging method breakthroughs.
Results: Convergence of pharmacological agents with imaging modalities has been promising to improve cancer treatment efficacy, facilitate early diagnosis, accurate monitoring, and personalized treatment regimens. Breakthrough critical advances in radiopharmaceuticals and immuno-radiotherapy are discussed, emphasizing clinical applications.
Conclusion: The convergence of new pharmacological therapies and new radiological technologies is transforming the future of oncology. Further studies must be realized to overcome the existing limitations and reap the full benefit of personalized, targeted cancer therapy.
